Cats Only Owner Andrea Lukuch (CVPM) Speaks with NBC4 about Spring Flower Dangers for Cats

Spring Flowers and Cat Safety: A Seasonal Reminder

As spring blooms across Central Ohio, it’s important to be aware that some popular flowers can pose serious health risks to cats. In a recent interview with NBC4, Andrea Lukuch, owner of Cats Only Veterinary Clinic, highlighted the dangers of seasonal plants like lilies, tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths – all of which are toxic to felines.

Even small amounts of these plants can cause symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy, drooling, and in severe cases, kidney failure or heart issues. To keep your cat safe this spring, we recommend avoiding these flowers in your home and garden.

When in doubt, opt for cat-safe plants and always reach out to your veterinarian if you suspect your pet has ingested something harmful.
